The Gee Strings have just finished a french tour this month and their new record is out now. Bernadette (guitar) and Ingenius Pop (vocals) have kindly answered some questions. Interview ! Your last record, Speed Soul Racer , has been released last month. Can you explain the title ? Speed Soul Racer sounds great for an album title, we were just thinkin. It´s also a short and very fast album ...so it makes sense to us to use it as our album title…. But it´s up to you to interpret the story and the lyrics. Seven years have passed since your last album, I'm So Gee !! Why have you spent so much time without doing a record ? We were touring a lot after the release of I´m So Gee !! ...and time seems running quickly... not that much time for rehearsals. And by the way we need lot of time to finish and work on a new song / new album. Un break qui leur a été sacrément bénéfique car ce nouvel opus est une réussite du début à la fin. On The Run  qui ouvre ce mini album (c'est un huit titres) nous plonge tout de suite dans le bain, grosses guitares, bonnes mélodies et ... harmonica ! Chose inhabituelle chez nos teutons keupons, et ça sonne terriblement bien ! Comme si Dr Feelgood avaient enregistré un titre avec les Dead Boys. La suite est du même niveau, de bonnes parties de Rock N'Roll, du Punk façon 77 d'excellente facture (qui rappelle Avengers , comme souvent avec les Gee Strings ) un zest de Glam ici et là, un titre chanté en français et une très bonne production.
