GARAGE STORY - JENS LINDBERG: WHY I LOVE GARAGE ROCK

Image
Maggots 1998 Why I love garagerock As a young boy in the early 70’s me and my friends mostly listened to Sweet and Kiss. Other groups  of interest was Slade , Nazareth and Uriah Heep but music was not my main interest – I wanted to be  a cartoonist. All that changed during summer of 1980 when my parents sent me England on a language travel  course in Bude, Cornwall. There I got in touch with the embryonic mod- and skinhead culture and I  discovered SKA-music. Back home in Stockholm me and some other friends directly became mods  and soon realized that maybe SKA wasn’t the real deal as it was mostly favoured by our arch  enemies, the skinheads. Stomachmouths. In Orbit session 1987 So from there we instead turned to The Jam , The Chords , Purple Hearts etc and from there back to  the 60’s with groups such as The Who , Small Faces , Kinks and so on. For me my mod days ended in  1982 because I was fed up with the narrow minded scene and also had found other kind of musical  influc

Why did you choose Rogue Records for your latest release? Actually it was Jean-Marc Varlet who asked us in the first place back in April 2021. He made contact with me and told us that he would like to do a 7" on his label and as we were familliar with all the good work he had done earlier we were very happy to agree. However, we told him that he had to wait until we had finished the work with our album 'RnR Graduates. This meant that we could start with the recording first in January 2023. You're also a Chaputa Rds band, what's the difference of work between both labels ? Both Jean-Marc of Rogue Records and Esgar, Rui and Themoteo of Chaputa! Recods are extremely professional. I would say that the biggest differ

THE SOUND OF NOW - LES MAHARAJAS

THE MAHARAJAS: Talkin' To The Man / (Let's) Play House (Rogue Records) (Racksta, Suède) Jens Lindberg (guitare, chant, claviers), Jesper Karlsson (batterie, chant), Ulf Guttormsson (basse), Mathias Lilja (guitare) Nous vous parlions, il y a peu, des Maharajas  et de leur album Rock N'Roll Graduates  sortie sur Chaputa! Records . Records !!! Niklas from the Nomads : Chaputa! they seem to be cool people who are very dedicated to what they’re doing. We gave them a couple of already released songs for an EP but we’ve never met in person. You should ask my friend Jens Lindberg (of the Maharajas and many 80s garage bands) - he’s been doing a lot of projects with Chaputa! CHR 7005/6 - Chaputa!'s Double Feature Vol.1 Jens and Ulf from The Maharajas Back in 2012 a nice guy called Esgar contacted us and wondered if we wanted to be the first band to release a record on his and his friends newly started record company Chaputa! Records. We i
