INTERVIEW MONSTRE : DENVER CUSS: " A Ricard and a cigarette in the square before playing a gig to a room full on enthusiastic mods."
Taste question: Which artists have influenced you the most, and what can you tell us examples about this influence? Who is the artist you dislike and why will he/she never influence you?
I’m hugely influenced by soul music from the 50s through to the early 70s- I love the production style of music from Irma Thomas, The Impressions, The Sapphires and then more modern artists like Thee Sacred Souls and Thee Sinseers.
I don’t see much benefit to focusing on an artist who doesn’t influence me since they don’t influence me!
Intellectual question: Which 'non-musical artist (filmmaker, writer, painter...) played an important role in the way you evolved…
This might not be a very unique answer but I love Wes Anderson and the soundtracks by Alexandre Desplat.
History question: Can you sum up the life of your career?
I’m still very much in the early stages of my career but I’ve had some incredible experiences already, from touring Europe as a backing vocalist for my friend PM Warson to having a two-page feature in Rolling Stone Germany.
Selfish question: Why did you prefer a solo career than being in a band?
I don’t! I make my own music but receive a lot of inspiration from my band mates and my co-writer and guitarist, Kit Warren.
Buddy question: Who has helped you most in your adventure and without whom you wouldn't have had the same evolution?
The aforementioned PM Warson is a great friend of mine. I definitely wouldn’t be where I am musically without his support, creative input and general belief that I can make really cool music.
Question Happy Few: What's the biggest benefit you've derived from your career, and can you tell us about it?
I had the opportunity to release my first album, Leaving Me through German distributor Broken Silence, which was very exciting as it meant we produced LPs and CDs.
Funny question. What's the funniest thing that's ever happened to you?
Unfortunately (or fortunately) I don’t think many funny things have happened to me. What really makes me laugh is an off-the-cuff joke or comment, rather than silly or embarrassing stuff.
Camembert question: What's France to you, apart from the land of wine and cheese? (you're allowed to Google it, the theme is rock and underground culture).
A Ricard and a cigarette in the square before playing a gig to a room full on enthusiastic mods.
Sponsorship question: Who can you sponsor for Les Monstres Sacrés, and how can you convince us to talk about them?
Crome Yellow- they’re an amazing band from my hometown in southeastern Ireland.
Patriotic question: Make the list (between 5 & 10) of the top records made par artists of our country.

Francoise Hardy - Tous Les Garcons
