Le rock garage des années 80 aurait eu un tout autre visage si les Fuzztones n’avaient pas existé. Ils étaient habillés en noir et arboraient des colliers d’os humains (du moins le prétendaient-ils), ils symbolisaient le retour au primitif ainsi que la noirceur du monde qui les entourait (les mauvais quartiers de New York). Sans eux les guitares Vox n’auraient pas été si présentes (elles allaient d’ailleurs devenir leur symbole), les Hoodoo Gurus n’auraient pas non plus ressemblé à ce qu’ils étaient, le logo des Dwarves n’aurait pas eu la même apparence. .. et l’album Acid Eaters des Ramones n’aurait peut-être pas vu le jour. Not many people know this, but Rudi Protrudi of the Fuzztones published a fanzine in the 1970s. And he was not short of ideas! What do you think about the funny interview with the Cramps (favourite colour, etc) by your sister. It appeared in the zine " Flash In The Pan " (# 1, May 1979) ? Flash In The Pan  was a fanzine I put out in the ‘70s. I believe the Cramps slam book was in the first issue - the one that featured an article I wrote called “Does Mick Jagger Suck Cock?” I got the idea from when I was in Jr. High. We used to make up these questionnaires in notebooks and pass them around when the teacher wasn’t looking. We’d have all the same kind of questions in it that were in the Cramps one, starting with innocuous stuff like “favorite color,” and eventually graduating to “What do you think of So-and-So”…. I made the slam book regular feature in the ‘zine, later having  Lydia Lunch  do one, as well as  the Slickee Boys , but the Cramps one was, by far, the funniest. An

FUZZTONES - LIVE IN EUROPE (LP/CD Music Maniac Records 1987/1989) Certains affirment que  Live In Europe est un des meilleurs disques live des Fuzztones . Même s'il ne contient quasiment que des reprises, il reste une référence dans leur discographie.  Enregistré lors de deux concerts en Hollande et en Allemagne ( LVC Leiden, 3 mai 1985 et Zabolinde, Nuremberg, 10 mai 1985)  le son est excellent du début à la fin et l'énergie brute à souhait . A noter que le groupe a choisi de le sortir à l'époque pour contrer l'arrivée de bootlegs .  La face A débute avec Bad Little Woman , reprise d'un single des Wheels de 1966, suivi de Blues Theme de Davie Allan & The Arrows (en fait, une composition de l'artiste américain Michael Curb ). 1985 - The Fuzztones were on our first European tour, opening for The Damned. We'd just played the Hammersmith Palais in London. The Damned's drummer, Rat Scabies, was standing at the bar, chatting with Jimmy Page, and had just introduced him to Deb, when a young kid who'd been a Damned fan and had recently converted to becoming a Fuzztones fan, entered the picture. Rat began belittling the kid and Deb came to his defense. After a few choice words, she began to walk away. That's when Rat sucker punched her, knocking her unconscious. Let's talk about your work as a drawer. You've created the record or cassette covers for Garage Sale / Sixties Rebellion / Best Of Pebbles for example. Can you tell us which artists inspire you or have inspired you? As well as most of The Fuzztones and Jaymen covers. My main inspiration was the artists who illustrated the EC horror comics of the 50s, as well as Ed “Big Daddy Roth” and his creations, such as Rat Fink and various monsters driving customised hot rods. Did you learn to draw by yourself and what is your way of working on drawings ? For example, did the drawing of the first LP take you a long time to do? My parents were both artists. My mom put a pencil in my hand when I was two years old, and I’ve been drawing ever si
