Wynonie HARRIS : Rocks (CD, Bear Family Records) Wynonie Harris est né le 24 août 1915 à Omaha, Nebraska. Cette date est celle mentionnée sur sa pierre tombale même si d'autres sources donnent 1913, à commencer par les concepteurs de cette compilation qui semblent s'être basés sur un document de recensement militaire, rempli par Wynonie Harris lui-même, sur lequel il prétend être né en 1913. Mais l'on sait que ces documents sont sujets à caution et qu'il faut souvent en adapter la grille de lecture. En effet, Wynonie Harris remplit ce document en 1934, il prétend donc avoir vingt et un ans, soit l'âge légal pour pouvoir fréquenter des établissements vendant de l'alcool, alors que, s'il avait mentionné 1915, ça ne lui aurait fait que dix-neuf ans, lui interdisant de fait l'entrée dans de tels établissements, un handicap pour son activité, à l'époque, de danseur, et bientôt de chanteur. Hello Everyone and Happy New Year!! My best to you and your families in 2024.  I am kicking off the new year with a fresh start. After I announced I was shutting down BOT I was motivated to give it another go by the amazing support I received from many of you. Thank you all for your support over the years. As I put this new issue together I realized how much I would miss it as well. I do enjoy sharing my stories of collecting, revisiting long forgotten bands and introducing you to new bands I've discovered. But overall, knowing that you, the readers, enjoy what I throw at you has ignited a spark. I dusted off a couple of articles I had started (I've been wanting to get the piece on The Primates out for months) and landed an interview with an old friend, Achille from France. I've already got a couple of ideas for future issues and I have my eye on hitting 40 issues by the end of this year. Enough of my blabbing and on with the show!!! Enjoy and keep 'em spinning.   La dernière Dead Groll Party a eu lieu mercredi 29 novembre au bar restaurant Le Cocagne, à Périgueux. Pour fêter la sortie du numéro 12, Eléonore avait invité  Marc Minelli pour un spécial Clash  ainsi que  DJ Raf (Limoges) et DJ Ricane (Périgueux) pour chauffer les lieux avec des disques des Ramones , Bart And The Brats et autres Members .  20h15, venu exprès du Havre pour effectuer une poignée de dates dans la région, Marc Minelli commence par quelques mots sympas et précise que les américains ont inventé le Rock N'Roll, les anglais l'ont sublimé , point de vue que je partage entièrement.   Seul, avec sa Takamine branchée sur un ampli afin que ceux au fond du bar puissent en profiter, il attaque avec London Calling . Pas que le lieu soit immense, mais il serait dommage pour certaines personnes présentes de ne rien entendre. London Calling,  donc, puis Jimmy Jazz, Guns Of Brixton , Marc Minelli aime The Clash , on le sait, le groupe anglais ...
