We had discovered some of his productions (Jonesy, The Dogs and the Wild Zeros), and the HEAVY MEDICATION RECORDS label seemed to be an interesting one.  One day, its owner, Derrick, contacted us, and here's the result of our discussions! Can you introduce yourself? Tell us about your musical background. My name is Derrick Ogrodny, and I’m originally from Chicago. I moved to Warsaw, Poland in 1996 and have been living here ever since. That’s also where Heavy Medication is currently based. I suppose my interest in music began when my parents bought me a cheap, little record player when I was a kid. Even before I developed any taste in music, I just loved watching records spin around on the turntable and hearing sounds coming out of them. The Rolling Stones were the first band I fell in love with in grammar school. Not long after I discovered Black Sabbath ’s “ Paranoid ” album which I’d borrowed from my cousin (on an 8-track tape!) Records, one of the boss of the label, Esgar, has kindly answered our questions  First of all, happy anniversary to Chaputa Records, you've been around for 10 years, how does it feel to be starting to belong to the "old labels" ;) ? Ahhh... this is a very good question, right from the start... Let's try to define "old"... 10 years may seem like a lot, and it indeed is, but it also depends on your perspective. For someone who is 20 years old, 10 years is half their life, but for someone who is 100, it's just a bit. Let's say the founders of Chaputa! are now at an age where they consider 10 years as "a bit." 🤣 But if the question is about the fact that we've been established for a few years, well, it's a great joy to know that we've been able to maintain this project for a decade and that we're among the "old labels." Des disques réalisés avec soin par un passionné, Jean-Marc Varlet, qui a eu la gentillesse de répondre à nos questions. Je suis tombé dans la musique en 1971, à l'âge de 14 ans, quand j'ai commencé à acheter mes premiers albums : Slade , the Who , Creedence Clearwater Revival , Bee Gees d'avant la période disco, David Bowie ... En 1984 un fanzine Toulousain ( Nineteen ) me fait découvrir des groupes garage contemporains dont je ne soupçonnais pas l'existence, et qui étaient dans la même démarche que ces groupes des sixties qui
