Your band, the Adverts became famous in 77. It has been quite a while since and unfortunately I think the Adverts never got the success they deserved specially considering the quality of the two albums you released. Today, you keep on playing those songs and others as a solo act mostly. And your trajectory seems quite similar to Wreckless Eric ’s one. Do you feel any acquaintance with this other maverick of English rock poetry ? I love Wreckless Eric , and do feel that we have followed a similar kind of path. We both spent a period where we refused to play our old records live because it was too inhibiting and we both felt we had to be judged on our new material. Now for myself, and I think for Eric too, we have kind of proved ourselves as songwriters and are happy to play the old songs again - as long as it’s in the context of everything with done since.  Nous avons décidé de faire évoluer un peu la rubrique the Sound Of Now. Elle était structurée d'une façon simple (une présentation courte et un lien d'écoute du groupe concerné).  Notre Top Monstres se présente également comme cela. Par contre, il est le fruit du vote des collaborateurs et ne propose que ce qui nous a le plus plu durant les dernières quatre semaines.  Certains artistes prolifiques ont souvent de nouveaux morceaux, nous essayons de laisser de la place pour tous et donc laissons de côté ceux qui ont déjà été auparavant le sujet d'une entrée (désolé Rob Moss 😉, mais continue à nous envoyer tes titres stp, voilà ta rubrique !). D'autres ne sont pas arrivés à atteindre notre Top 6, la concurrence est rude ! J'ai trouvé une liste de titres de démos de 1975 intitullées  Interstellar    Overdrive , Tits To You , Too Much Fun , Dogs …. Je n'ai trouvé aucune de ces chansons dans vos albums, peux-tu nous en parler ? Interstellar overdrive , c'était le morceau de Pink Floyd le groupe la jouait en répétition avant que je les joigne. Vous ne nous imaginer pas jouer ce morceau maintenant, c’était il y a 40 ans.    Tits To You Ce n'était pas une très bonne chanson.  Quelle était la troisième ? Le troisième était Too Much Fun . On avait une chanson incroyable. Elle n'est jamais sortie. C'est Too Much Fun . On était en Allemagne en 77 et il y avait cette organisation terroriste  Baader Meinhof.  On était dans notre van et sur le chemin, on s'est arrêté pour prendre un café. Quelqu'un a appelé la police pensant que nous étions ces terroristes. Alors on est remontés dans notre van, l'instant d'après, à 8 km de là, un hélicoptère nous survole accompagné par tout

RAMONES 1977 One of the great regrets of my life. I was on my way to see the Ramones in Birmingham – walking towards the venue – and something happened that stopped me and I never saw them. I love the Ramones because they’re so pure. I’m in a bookshop, and there’s pile of “On the Road with The Ramones” books. I pick one up and flip it open, and there is my drawing, used as a poster for the Melkweg Club in Amsterdam! Wow! I mean – how cool is that?! Naturally I stole a copy.
